rotator_cuffThere goes my baseball career! With one misstep on the icy front steps last Saturday night and my world was suddenly turned upside down–literally. Tomorrow I find out the results of the MRI to see just how much damage I did to my shoulder. The fact that I cannot raise my arm is a good indicator that any sort of professional sports is now a dream of the past.

Maybe the worst part about it is the continual question: “What did you do to your shoulder?” Telling the story is becoming old very quickly.

I am having fun with it though. I have begun to answer the stock question in different ways–the key is to do it with all serious in a deadpan tone.

“What did you do to your shoulder?”
“I broke my leg.”
“What did you do to your shoulder?”
“I have an incurable case of cholera.”
“What did you do to your shoulder?”
“What shoulder?”

You get the point.
